Renting villas and apartments in cyprus

There is always that difficult stage when you first move to a country about where to live. I am so pleased that i found a villa for rent in Cyprus first. Bellow are my notes on areas from when i first moved over and what areas i thought suited different people. I did this in the hope to find the perfect location for me to rent in.... So it may help someone else too, plus there are links to websites which may be of use to you at some point!

Paralimni: ideal for families with children as there are plenty of schools within close proximity for all age groups. Also ideal for shops, supermarkets and cafes, so no car needed necessarily.

Protaras: Great beaches, bars and restaurants, ideal for those who wish to work in the tourist industry, car is needed for main shops and amenities.

Pernera:

Ayia Triada: Not many apartments, but plenty of villas available. Good location for a sea side resort and close to the amenities. Ideal for families who wish to have the best of both worlds.

Kapparis: Ideal for young and old, the resort is open all year round and has a wide variety of entertainment, like bars and restaurants. It is close to Paralimni and also the sea side. Plenty of apartments available and villas. See some examples of villa rentals Kapparis here

Dherinia: Ideal for anyone needing use of the hospital, also ideal for cultural living. Close to amenities and Paralimni but car needed to really enjoy the area.

Vrysoulles: Ideal for access to Ayios Nicolas army base. Great area for village living.

Xylofagou: Ideal for those who will commute to and from Larnaca for work or to the airport, central to Larnaca and Protaras areas. Car needed but there are schools and amenities in the area, so ideal for families and couples.

Ayia Napa: Ideal for those working in the tourist industry, more couples.

Ayia Thekla: Quiet location, built up but costal resort, not far from Paralimni and Ayia Napa but car needed.

Cape Greco: Ideal for walkers, people who enjoy long walks in the nature trails, quiet and tranquil area. Ideal for couples and relaxation. Apartments not so easy to come by in this area but villas with and without pools available.

There are lots of apartments and villas to rent in Cyprus but finding the right one is always the most important factor to how you will fit in to your new surroundings. If you choose a location to quickly and you don't like it, it will change your whole feel about Cyprus. Your first year should be an exciting one, one for exploring and getting lost and certainly not spending time hating where you live! Hope it helps!!!

Why Cyprus was more of a home to me!

Ever been to Cyprus? I spent all my time here as a child, i couldn't get enough of it, the people, the weather, the sea, the relaxed pace of life... i was the 8year old one on the holiday coach home who had teams streaming down my face! Every time i landed back in Cyprus i felt a relief, i called it home! I hated living back home, the fealing like i was always looking behind me, here i can get in the car and drive anywhere at any time and not look or think about the possibilites, not keeping that spare money in my shoe!

Protaras has so much to offer everyone, holiday makers, retired people, children and couples. Cyprus is the type of country where culture maters, where people stick together, families are close and Sundays are a day of rest. Although Cyprus has two different seasons, a summer and a winter, both enjoyable and both opposites from each other.

In the summer, the resorts come alive, Protaras and Pernera open up for a new season, music and laughter, karaoke and bouzouki... Ayia Napa's harbour is always full and there are endless restaurants and bars for evening entertainment. The beaches are glowing and the sea is so clear you can see your own feet. The sky is a baby blue and when you look out over the sea, you cant tell where the sea ends and the sky beggins.

In Winter the resorts close or change to "Local" traditions, such as Greek music clubs. Giving most people in the area time to relax and unwind from the summer and enjoy a long holiday, playing back gammon with friends, "tavli" in Greek. Having a coffee and watching the world go by, going to local football matches and enjoying the time with families that they miss in the summer.

When you think you know all three is to know about Cyprus, something new will jump out, a cave you never knew excited, a church with history from long ago, there is always something to discover and something to learn, two weeks just isnt long enough!

There are so many options available from when i was small, trying to find a rental was like finding a needle in a hay stack, it was "the guy up the road, knows a girl from the next village, whos fathers cousin has a friend with an apartment to rent" and if you were lucky you would get to that "friend" and hope that the property wasnt allready rented. For holiday makers, there are lots of options other than hotels or all inclusive holidays. There are private villas with luxurious pools and apartments with more facilities than imaginable, all of these options make it possible for people to spend less in Cyprus and longer in Cyprus year on year. There are lots of companies in Cyprus for rentals all over the island, all with a product to offer, dealing with both long and short term rentals, one is spot on villa rentals in Cyprus.

Bringing children to Cyprus is a great choice, the people are friendly, they go out of there way to know your name... you are not just another face in the crowd! The beaches are safe, with blue flag awards on many, life guards and sandy beaches, pathways lined with palm trees and family entertainment throughout the establishments of Protaras.

These are just some of the reasons why i call Cyprus my home!!!
